St. Philomena: Dear Little Saint, Virgin Martyr, the Wonder-Worker 2.2

The "Little Crown" or Chaplet of St. Philomena is a symbolic prayer consisting of a medal of the Saint, three white beads representing virginity and the Blessed Trinity, and thirteen red beads representing martyrdom and the years Philomena lived on earth.

Praying the "Little Crown" is a popular way to request St. Philomena's intercession. It begins by reciting the Apostle's Creed to invoke the grace of faith. Then, three Our Fathers are said in thanksgiving for the graces bestowed on Saint Philomena and for all favors received through her intercession. A prayer is repeated thirteen times to commemorate each year of Saint Philomena's supposed life on earth.

At the conclusion of the Chaplet, a prayer is said to honor St. Philomena for shedding her blood for Christ and to seek her intercessory power for personal intentions.
